Tirwedd’s focus is on the potential of the former workshops at Pen yr Orsedd quarry as a resource that will provide social, economic and environmental benefit to the people and communities of Dyffryn Nantlle.

Tirwedd’s vision is to restore the buildings on the second ponc and to establish an Engineering Conservation Training and Skills Centre on the site. The workshops will provide training and workshop facilities for the repair, replication and manufacture of heritage engineering. It would result in jobs and training not only in traditional skills such as blacksmithing and carpentry, but also in allied business skills and marketing in high tech areas such as computer aided design.
